Dan Liljenquist is Chairman of the Board at Graphite Health and brings considerable experience and expertise to the team. In addition to his position here at Graphite, Dan is a Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Intermountain Healthcare. At Intermountain, Dan is responsible for helping the Executive Leadership team in setting and achieving its strategic priorities, overseeing Intermountain’s Enterprise Initiative and Market Intelligence & Planning Offices.
Prior to joining Intermountain in 2012, Dan served in the Utah State Senate and was nationally recognized for his work on Medicaid and public-sector pension reforms. He is a former strategy consultant with Bain & Company, Inc., providing high level consulting services to multiple Fortune 500 clients across several industries.
In one of his most impactful recent ventures, Dan is the lead architect and Board Chair of Civica Rx, an initiative to create a not-for-profit generic drug company to “ensure that essential generic medications are available and affordable to everyone”. He is passionate about eliminating the barrier to accessing affordable health care and medication, and is the lead author of Addressing Generic-Drug Market Failures – The Case for Establishing a Nonprofit Manufacturer, published in the New England Journal of Medicine in May 2018.
Dan received his Juris Doctorate from The University of Chicago Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brigham Young University. Dan and his wife, Brooke, are the parents of six children and reside in Bountiful, Utah.
